Every Man Is a King — And Here’s Why

Every man is a king of his own kingdom, and that kingdom is his physical body.

Because of this incredibly important truth, it becomes critical to be mindful of what you allow into your kingdom. What you consume as information, what you take in as sustenance through food and drink, and the energetic exchanges you have with other people all become the materials you build your kingdom with from the inside out.

The state of a kingdom is never an accident. It is shaped by what is allowed through the gates. The conversations you engage in, the environments you place yourself in, the thoughts you entertain, and the way you care for your body all contribute to the strength or weakness of the kingdom you live within. A wise king understands that protecting his kingdom requires awareness, and that leadership begins with responsibility for what he allows to influence his mind, his body, and his actions.

For a king to defend his kingdom, he must possess the ability, on occasion, to fight or perhaps to take flight. Sometimes he must raise the drawbridge and deter invaders. And sometimes, when necessary, he must pick up his sword and shield and go to war in defence of what he is responsible for protecting.

Looking out at the world today, which at times seems to be moving through an increasingly strange and uncertain state of affairs, it is easy to feel that ancient warrior instinct rise within us. We see scared little boys projecting themselves as powerful men running the world, and behind them stand groups of so-called elites who appear to have traded integrity for power and control.

At times I can feel that fire rise in me. The instinct to pick up the sword and shield and remove the tyrants who seem determined to drag humanity toward greater division, conflict, and control.

Yet we are not living in a time where we meet one another on a battlefield. If we were, weak little boys pretending to be powerful men would not remain in charge for very long, because they would have been overrun and removed long ago.

So instead I choose to channel my energy in a different way. I continue to practise, to learn, to grow, and to let go. I continue striving to be and to do my best while evolving in mind, body, soul, and yes, even ego.

For me, breathwork, physical exercise, and meditation have become some of the most supportive ways to channel and redirect my energy. They give me the space to feel frustration and anger without being ruled by them. They remind me that I can experience those emotions without allowing them to control my actions.

From that place, frustration can be transmuted and anger can be redirected into something constructive. What once felt destructive can become fuel for discipline, growth, and positive change.

Because as simple as it may sound, the answer to almost every question is love.

And we really are the change we wish to see.

If you want to see change in the world, it begins with the responsibility you take for your own life. Because if you are not consciously creating your life and taking responsibility for your actions, someone else will happily direct your attention and energy to build their vision instead.

A king who abandons his throne will soon find someone else ruling his kingdom. The invitation therefore is simple: reclaim your kingship and begin building your kingdom consciously from the inside out.

If this message resonates with you, I invite you to watch the multi-award-winning documentary Pain to Purpose, which shares the deeper journey behind this work and the message of returning home to yourself. If you feel ready to explore what reclaiming your kingship could look like in your own life, you are welcome to book a free discovery call where we can speak directly about where you are, where you want to go, and how you can begin stepping into greater clarity, responsibility, and leadership in your own life.
