YOUTH MENTORING & SAFEGUARDING
Supporting Young People Aged 11–21 With Emotional Intelligence, Confidence & Healthy Masculinity
(Online Mentoring — Parent-Supervised)
Welcome — A Safe, Supportive Space for Your Child
As children grow into young people, they often face challenges around emotions, identity, confidence, belonging and developing a healthy sense of self. Many boys, especially, struggle with:
emotional overwhelm
copying unhealthy masculinity online
feeling pressure to “be the man” too early
withdrawing or shutting down
anger or frustration
anxiety, performance pressure or self-doubt
lack of a grounded masculine role model
My role is to support your son in a way that is safe, age-appropriate, empowering and fully aligned with safeguarding best practice.
What I Offer
I provide online mentoring sessions for young people aged 11–21 that focus on:
✔ Emotional intelligence
Helping them understand thoughts, feelings and behaviours in simple, relatable ways.
✔ Nervous system regulation
Breathing, grounding and techniques to feel safe, calm and in control.
✔ Confidence and self-worth
Building an internal foundation of “I am enough” and healthy self-belief.
✔ Healthy, grounded masculinity
Supporting boys to develop a genuine sense of strength, kindness, responsibility and authenticity.
✔ Communication skills
Helping them express emotions and thoughts in a clear, safe, confident way.
✔ Identity development
Guiding them to understand themselves, make wiser choices and grow into a strong young man.
This is not therapy, not counselling and not clinical work — it is supportive wellbeing mentoring tailored for young people.
How Sessions Work (Online-Only)
All under-16 mentoring takes place online via Zoom with the following safety structure:
✔ Parent/guardian must be present in the home
They do not need to sit in the session, but they must be in the same property, aware of the session and immediately contactable.
✔ Sessions take place from neutral, appropriate rooms
Neither I nor the child will ever join a session from a bedroom.
✔ Sessions are age-appropriate
All mentoring uses simple language, stories, tools and frameworks designed for children and young teens.
✔ Boundaries are clear and consistent
There is no physical contact, no private messaging, and no unsupervised communication.

What Parents Can Expect
Parents play an active and essential role in the process.
You can expect:
✔ Regular communication
Updates when appropriate (respecting the child’s age-appropriate privacy).
✔ Clear boundaries
No communication with your child outside approved platforms and never without your knowledge.
✔ Transparency
You will always know when sessions are happening, how they work, and what the focus is.
✔ Age-appropriate confidentiality
I respect a young person’s privacy unless they share information that suggests risk of harm to themselves or others.
✔ Clear safeguarding action
If a concern arises, I act immediately and appropriately.
What Young People Can Expect
Children and young adolescents receive:
A safe space to talk
Practical tools for feelings, confidence and self-belief
A positive male role model
Guidance without judgement
Simple strategies for everyday challenges
A calm, grounded presence they can rely on
No pressure. No forced vulnerability. No clinical language.
Just genuine guidance and support.
What I Do NOT Do
For clarity and safeguarding safety, I do not:
✘ Diagnose mental health conditions
✘ Offer therapy, counselling or psychotherapy
✘ Conduct trauma recovery work with under-16s
✘ Meet in person
✘ Engage in private messaging with minors
✘ Replace parental authority or responsibility
✘ Work with young people without parental consent
This keeps the mentoring space safe, ethical and appropriate.
Is This Right for Your Child?
This mentoring approach is ideal for young people who:
struggle with confidence
find emotions overwhelming
feel pressure to act older than they are
copy exaggerated or unhealthy masculinity from online influencers
feel anxious, stressed or withdrawn
need a grounded male role model
would benefit from support in navigating adolescence
If you're unsure, we can discuss your child’s needs openly and honestly.
How to Get Started
Before any mentoring begins, the parent/guardian must:
Complete the Parent Consent & Agreement Form
Attend a short welcome call with me
Ensure the home environment is safe and appropriate for sessions
Once this is complete, we arrange regular online sessions at a time that suits your family.
